The F5 Access for Android app (formerly known as the BIG-IP Edge Client for Android) provided by F5 Networks is a reliable solution for securing and enhancing mobile device access to enterprise networks and applications. It leverages VPN and optimization technologies to offer secure VPN access as part of an enterprise deployment of F5 BIG-IP® Access Policy Manager™ (APM).

- Full Layer 3 network access to all enterprise applications and files
- Support for Google Android 5.0+ per-app VPN functionality
- Enhanced support for Android for Work, ensuring secure app traffic through F5 BIG-IP APM
- Compatible with Android on Chrome OS devices
- Automatic network roaming to maintain connectivity on the go
- Authentication using client certificates stored in Android Credential Storage (compatible with Android versions 4.0, 4.2.x, 4.3.x, 4.4.x, 5.x, 6.0 and higher; Android 4.1 is not supported)
- SAML authentication for seamless VPN connections initiation
- Supports multi-factor authentication, including SAML
- Enables biometric and device authentication for cached credential reuse
- Capable of detecting rooted devices
- Seamless user provisioning through MDM products from Airwatch, MaaS360, and MobileIron Core
- Managed configuration mode that prevents user edits to connection configurations once initially set up by the IT administrator
- Compatible with Android versions 4.x, 5.x, 6.x, 7.x, 8.0, and 10
- Integrates with Always On VPN Mode for Android for Work
